How do I become a Quantum Customer?

You can become a customer by registering on-line or by visiting a Quantum Express Agent location.

How long will it take for me to receive my card?

Cards will arrive within 7-10 business days. All cards are shipped via Standard First Class Mail through Canada Post.


May I transfer my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, to another party?

Yes. The Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, is yours to use as you wish. However, you are responsible for issuing the card and PIN to any other party. If mailing the card to someone else, it is advised that you send the card and PIN separately, and that you do not load funds onto the card until such time as you are assured that it has reached your intended recipient. Your card and PIN are valuable, and you should utilizing high security measures when mailing or couriering.


Can I get more than one Global Prepaid Card?

Yes. There is a $10 charge for each additional card. Maximum of 5 cards per customer.


Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel your order within 24 hours after sign-up.


When does my membership expire?

Your membership expires one year from the anniversary of your sign-up. If you do not renew your membership, all membership benefits will be discontinued.

How do I activate my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express?

Upon receipt of your Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, you can immediately activate the card by calling the number provided on the back of the card.


When do I receive my Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

Your PIN will be sent to you in a separate envelope- apart from your Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express.


How do I change my PIN?

You may not change your PIN. The PIN that is sent to you is the PIN that you must use. To minimize the risk of theft, it is important to protect your PIN. Memorize your PIN; don’t write it down. Make sure you cover the PIN pad when you are entering your number at an ATM/ABM. Only bank when and where you feel most secure. If you are uncomfortable about using a particular banking machine for any reason, follow your instincts and go to another location.


How do I load funds onto my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express?

Funds can be loaded from any internet source, 24/7.  Simply log-on to your Quantum Express account and follow the loading instructions.  Funds can only be loaded from your designated bank account.


How long does it take for the loaded funds to be available on the debit card?

The transaction is verified and completed in approximately 1-2 business days. Funds are then available for immediate withdrawal.


What bank issues the card?

FBME Bank Ltd.  (fbme.com)


Are my funds protected, safe and insured?

Your funds are protected by the same insurance that covers your personal banking account.


Why do you require such detailed information from me in order to become a Quantum Member, when I will be using my own funds to load the card?

All Canadian Financial Institutions are required by law to collect and retain specified information to comply with legislative requirements to help combat Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing. If you prefer, you may provide this information by mail or fax, or you may scan the documents and send via email. Simply send two (2) copies of government issued identification pieces, along with a voided cheque, to Quantum Express. Quantum will retain the information in a hardcopy file. Your information will not be disseminated to any other organizations or individuals and your privacy is protected at all times.Quantum Express is fully committed to preventing andidentifying fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing- through robust policies and relevant reporting to proper authorities.  Quantum Express has a clearly documented Anti-Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing program and compliance procedures.

The Verification objective is to always confirm the identity and legitimacy of who you are by verifying your Personal Details, Contact Details, Bank Account Details, Telephone Number and Identity Documents.

Will I be charged interest on my purchases or cash withdrawals?

No. But this also means you will not accrue interest on your credit balance.


Where can I use my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express?

Your Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, can be used at any of over 25,000,000 point-of-sale merchants.  You may also withdraw funds from any of the over 1,000,000 ATM’s worldwide. And your card can also be used to make on-line purchases.


Can I use my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, internationally?

Yes. When you use your prepaid card in another country, you are making your transaction in that country’s currency. Likewise, when you take money out of an ATM in another country, you will receive your money in local currency.


Is my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, more convenient and safer to carry than Travellers Cheques?

Yes. The Global Prepaid Debit Card eliminates the need to carry travellers cheques, which can often be a hassle to use since merchants and financial institutions require a Passport or other photo identification; to claim lost or stolen travellers cheques a precise record of each cheque used must have been retained; and merchants often charge a fee for cashing traveller’s cheques.


What is the maximum that I can load onto my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express?

What is the maximum daily withdrawal limit?

As with any other debit card, this is subject to the individual ATM. Quantum does not control the amount of daily withdrawals.


What is the maximum number of purchases I can make with my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express?

Ten (10) transactions per day.


What is the maximum number of times that I can attempt my PIN before I will be locked out of my account?

Maximum PIN retries is three (3).


What is the fee for non-sufficient funds when withdrawing funds from an ATM?

ATM Decline Fee is $0.49 US.


What is the fee for using my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express at a point-of-sale (POS)?

POS Fee, including On-line POS, is $1.00 US.


What is the fee for non-sufficient funds when using my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express at a point-of-sale (POS)?

POS Decline Fee is $0.49 US.


What is the cost to activate my card to enable online purchases?

Secure Code Activation Fee is $3.00 US.  The Code is the 3-digit number on the back of your card, which must be activated prior to use.


What is the cost to withdraw funds from an ATM?

QUANTUM EXPRESS DOES NOT CHARGE ANY WITHDRAWAL FEES.
Standard ATM fees apply based on the individual machine that you are using. 


Is there a fee to load my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express?

- $3.99 for loading online
- $7.99 for loading in store


What is the foreign exchange conversion fee when withdrawing funds from an international ATM?

Quantum Express does not charge a conversion fee.


What is the exchange rate when I withdraw funds from an international ATM?

Exchange rates are based on a daily competitive rate. 


How does Quantum determine the foreign exchange rate for currency conversion?

Quantum uses the same rate as MasterCard for currency exchange. Please note that the exchange rate quoted on this website can fluctuate daily and is only for the current date.


Why does the foreign exchange rate differ from what I may see in other places?

The foreign exchange rate can change daily and may vary with different companies.


Which currencies does Quantum support?

At this time, Quantum supports only U.S. dollars for card loading and transfers. Please note: When withdrawing funds from ATMs, funds will be dispensed in local currency.


Which ATMs will allow me to withdraw funds?

Look on the back of your Quantum Express presented Global Card. All ATMs that display the brand marks listed will accept the Global Pre-paid Card.


Can I get a list of ATM locations if I don't have Internet access where I'm going?

Yes. The ATM network locations are only a phone call away, giving you access to cash wherever you go. In the United States & Canada: Call 1-800-424-7787


What happens if my card is lost or stolen?

One of the many advantages of using a Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, is that if your card is lost or stolen, you may not have to pay for fraudulent purchases that were made with your card. All Canadian Prepaid Cards have zero-liability protection. With zero-liability protection, you are not held responsible for any fraudulent point-of-sale purchases made with your Prepaid Card.  If your card is lost or stolen please contact our customer service department and a new card will be issued.  The funds that are currently on the card will be transferred onto your new card.


Is there a fee to replace my card if it is lost or stolen?

There is a $20 card replacement fee.


Does my Global Prepaid Card, presented by Quantum Express, expire? 

Your Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express, will expire every two years.  As long as you continue to renew your annual membership with Quantum, a new card will automatically be sent to you.


What happens to my loaded funds if I allow my card to expire?

You will lose the funds if you do not renew. Since you will no doubt want to renew your card, it would be prudent to keep track of the renewal date.


The ATM wouldn’t accept my card. What do I do?

If you encounter difficulties with acceptance of your card at a particular ATM location, call 1-800-622-7747.


Can I view the transactions that have taken place with the use of my Global Prepaid Debit Card, presented by Quantum Express?

Yes, you will be able to view all activity that has taken place with your Global Card, presented by Quantum Express by logging on to your Quantum Express Account. An on-line transaction history will be provided. No paper statements will be issued.


Can I enquire about my transactions on the telephone?

Yes, of course. Simply call our Customer Service Line at: 1-866-563-Quantum.


Am I able to use the full amount of funds on my card?

There will be a 5% hold on funds loaded on the card for any given transaction.

It is customary with credit cards to have a “padding” built into the available credit on the account. This padding is built in to accommodate for and change in value from the time the money is withdrawn or a purchase is made, to the time that the merchant actually posts the transaction to your account. The merchant has up to 10 business days to post a transaction. We also must hold funds in order to account for exchange rate fluctuations between the time of transaction and the time of posting the transaction. In some cases, such as restaurants, the merchant may send us a request for authorization for the food portion of your bill since you may not yet have written in a tip. In this case, we'll place the amount the restaurant sends us on hold, plus an additional 5% to cover any additional amount should it be added. While the money is on hold, it isn't taken out of your account. The money is not debited from your account until we get the FINAL, correct amount from the merchant.

How does the Rewards program work?

In most cases, you simply present your Quantum Express Rewards Card to the retailer, to enjoy the savings. In some instances, you will find printer-friendly savings certificate that you can present with your card to obtain discounts.


Why will businesses give me discounts?

Participating retailers welcome Quantum Express Members to build their profits. Because Quantum Express memberships are provided via the Internet exclusively to members, businesses save all the cost of advertising, direct mail and postage. They pass those savings directly to Quantum Express members.


What if I have questions about my Quantum Express Rewards card?

If you should ever encounter difficulties using your Quantum Express Rewards card, or simply have questions, please speak with a Member Services Representative.


How can I get help solving a problem with a retailer?  

Should there be a problem with a participating retailer, please contact Global Access by phone at
866-229-8787.  There are thousands of retailers across Canada and internationally, and we are constantly adding new merchants in person, via mail and by phone. Many retailers experience high employee turnover and are constantly training their employees. If you encounter an employee that is not aware of the Global Access Rewards program, or that fails to honour the discount, we want to hear from you as soon as possible. In most cases, we can educate the new employee and resolve the issue before another member encounters the same problem.


How do I know when new local businesses or special offers are added near me?

When you register your Quantum Express Rewards card, you will enter your Postal Code. Thereafter, you will receive a periodic e-mail, listing all the best deals near your home. You may change the Postal Code in your personal profile to have the e-mail bulletins feature another area. The hottest deals are posted daily and offered only while supplies last. We recommend that you check the site daily.



FRIENDS & FAMILY REFERRALS


If I refer a friend or family member to Quantum, when will I receive my referral commissions?

If you refer friends or family to Quantum, and they become a Quantum Express Member, you will be paid $10 for each member referred.  These funds will be deposited into your Quantum e-wallet within 7 business days of your referral’s sign up.
